Employment Requirements

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Wattsburg Area School District.  Below you will find Pennsylvania state-required forms for you to complete.  According to Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), anyone working with children in public schools is required to provide proof of the following clearances and documentation:

ALL APPLICANTS: Please submit items below with your application.  

  1. PA State Criminal Record Check (ACT 34) within 1 year.
  2. PA Child Abuse History Clearance (ACT 151) within 1 year.  
    • Submit online at the Child Welfare Portal.  Please provide a copy of the clearance certificate.
    • Volunteer clearances will not be accepted for employment purposes.
  3. FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check (ACT 114) within 1 year.
    • Pre-register online at IdentoGO and use Service Code 1KG6XN for Pennsylvania PDE-School Districts.  
    • After your fingerprints are taken, please provide the Registration ID Number (UEID#) on the receipt.  
    • Fingerprinting completed through the Department of Human Services or any other that is not the Department of Education will not be accepted for employment purposes.
    • Volunteer clearances will not be accepted for employment purposes.
  4. Act 24 Arrest-Conviction Report and Certification Form  (Act 24) 
  5. Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training Certificates (Act 126) less than 5 years.
    • Must be through a PDE approved provider and address, but not limited to, updates to the  Educator Discipline Act
  6. Act 168 - Sexual Misconduct-Abuse Disclosure (Act 168) 
    • Complete Section 1 for each applicable employer. Applicable employers include any current, any school district, anywhere you worked directly with children.  
    • WASD will send the form to the appropriate employer for completion of Section 2.
  7. School Personnel Health Record with completed Tuberculin (TB) and physical results.
    • TB test must be within three months.
    • Physical exam must be within one year.

INSTRUCTIONAL APPLICANTS: Please complete and submit the additional items below. 

  1. Pennsylvania Standard Teaching Application 
  2. Valid PA Teaching Certificate
  3. Copy of official transcripts
  4. Letters of professional reference
  5. Resume and cover letter

NON-INSTRUCTIONAL APPLICANTS: Please complete and submit additional items below. Non-Instructional staff include custodial, secretarial, maintenance, cafeteria, aide, coaching and service substitute positions.

  1. Non-Instructional Staff Application
  2. Special Education Aides: college transcripts or competency assessment certificate, CPR and first aide certifications.
