Become a Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering your time and talents to assist our students! Wattsburg Area School District recognizes the contributions to educational and extra-curricular activities that volunteers have to offer to the district and appreciates your time, effort, and support in providing our students a variety of beneficial learning experiences.

The well-being and safety of our students is a top priority. Per Pennsylvania State Law, security clearances must be submitted before volunteering within a school district. All volunteers require School Board approval

Wattsburg Area School District is now utilizing COMPLY to manage volunteer requirements. This system provides several benefits:

  • Safe & Secure Database - Your information is stored securely, protecting your clearances and personal data.
  • Automated Reminders - Email notifications alert you when items are nearing expiration, helping you stay on track.
  • User-Friendly - Log in anytime to see what's required and complete items at your own pace.
  • Transparent - Both volunteers and the district can clearly see what has been completed.

Comply Volunteer Portal:

To begin, interested volunteers must follow these Volunteer Account Instructions to create an account in Comply using a personal email address and the district provided volunteer token.

Required Clearances: Volunteers will need to upload the required clearances below in the COMPLY system. Each clearances will be a separate item. All clearances must be less than 1 year old for first time volunteers.

  1. ACT 34 - PA Criminal History
  2. ACT 151 - PA Child Abuse History
  3. ACT 114 - FBI Fingerprint Clearance

Please send volunteer questions to Volunteer@Wattsburg.org.

Mandated Reporter

Volunteers should be aware that recent changes to the Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) categorize school volunteers as Mandated Reporters. Although the law does not require volunteers to be trained, the District strongly encourages all volunteers to complete free online training on the requirements of Mandated Reporting, which can be accessed here: Pennsylvania Child Welfare Resource Center.
